The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard lấy bối cảnh thuộc thế giới của The Elder Scroll nhưng phần game này lại là phần game spin-off đầu tiên của series The Elder Scroll.

Bối cảnh trò chơi diễn ra tại lục địa Tamriel vào năm 864 của Kỷ nguyên thứ hai, khoảng 400 năm trước các sự kiện của phần đầu tiên của series là The Elder Scrolls: Arena và các phần game chính còn lại của series.
